Abstract

Due to the implantation of the HPS process (Hybrid Pelletizing Sinter) in the sinter plant, Belgo has increased the capacity of the secondary electrostatic precipitator, whose function is the facility dedusting. In mid-2004, replacing the current cyclones of the sinter plant machine exhausting system, a primary electrostatic precipitator will start-up. These two pieces of equipment will allow the stack emission of dust below 50 mg/Nm³, according to the environmental legislation and so establishing a good relationship with the community. This paper aims mainly at showing the primary electrostatic precipitator project and presenting some concepts about the precipitators technology.
