Abstract

Conhecer o comportamento do emprego do Agregado Siderúrgico em base e revestimento asfáltico de pavimento, gerando uma fonte alternativa de agregados para pavimentação no Município do Rio de Janeiro. Verificar a diferença quando do emprego de Agregado Siderúrgico no processo de produção e aplicação de massa asfáltica. Estudo das vantagens técnica, ambiental e econômica quando comparado com o processo convencional. O trabalho trata do estado da arte do material desde a sua geração (escória de aciaria) até a sua aplicação final, de forma ambientalmente segura e tecnicamente correta. Quaisquer fatores que influenciem a economia do país repercutem em todos os ramos da sociedade, principalmente nos órgãos públicos, cujos recursos apresentam-se insuficientes para fazer frente à totalidade de obras viárias a serem implantadas ou conservadas. Tornam-se necessários esforços conjuntos de iniciativa privada e pública na adoção de técnicas de custos reduzidos para que possa ter mais obras executadas sem perder em técnica e economia. Levantamento bibliográfico para emprego do Agregado Siderúrgico em pavimentação. Estudo de traço de mistura asfáltica a quente e pedra graduada, com emprego de Agregado Siderúrgico. Aplicação da massa asfáltica e seu controle. Monitoramento do pavimento ao longo de sua vida em serviço. Estudo econômico. Com os estudos realizados até o momento atual de monitoramento de trecho executado, verifica-se que o Agregado Siderúrgico apresenta uma fonte importante de agregados para pavimentação, mostrando grande superioridade na resistência das camadas do pavimento, desenvolvendo boa textura superficial e excelente atrito, além de propiciar economia substancial ao projeto.

 

To know the application’s manner of the Steel Aggregate in asphaltic basis and surface of the floor, generating an alternative source of aggregates for pavement in Rio de Janeiro. Verify the difference of the Steel Aggregate’s usage in the process of asphalt’s production and application. The study of the technical, environmental and economical advantages, in comparison with conventional process. The text concerns the material’s state of the art, since its creation (steel slag) until its final application, in a safe environmental manner and proper technically. Any factors that influence the country economy, reverberate in all branches of the society, mainly civil services, whose resources present insufficient to face all road works, that need to be implemented or conserved. Efforts from the free and civil enterprise are necessary in relation to the usage of techniques of reduced costs, aiming to have more works, that are executed without lost, concerning technique and economy. Research of bibliography for the application of the steel Aggregate on pavement. Study of trace of hot asphaltic mixture and crushed stone, using Steel Aggregate. Application of asphalt and its control. Monitoring of the pavement during its period of work. Economic study. Due to the studies performed at the moment, monitoring the worked distance, it is verified that the Steel Aggregate presents an important source of aggregates for pavement, proving an advantage at the resistance of the pavement’s layer, developing a good superficial texture and excellent friction, besides propitiate a substantial economy to the project.
