Abstract

Laboratórios realizam o ensaio para determinação da tenacidade à fratura KIC, mas para verificar a validade dos resultados, é importante que se estime a incerteza de medição do ensaio. O Guia para Expressão da Incerteza de Medição (GUM) apresenta um método reconhecido internacionalmente para se estimar a incerteza de ensaios quantitativos. O presente trabalho apresenta o desdobramento das etapas do GUM para o ensaio de KIC e a aplicação da planilha e do procedimento elaborados em um ensaio. Ao final, é realizada a análise crítica de quais fontes mais contribuíram para a incerteza de medição do ensaio executado.

Laboratories perform tests to determine the fracture toughness KIC, but it’s important to estimate the measurement uncertainty in order to verify the validity of the results. The Guide to the Expression of Uncertainty in Measurement (GUM) presents an internationally recognized method for estimating the uncertainty of quantitative tests. This work presents the deployment of the GUM steps in the estimation of the KIC uncertainty. Then, the method was applied to a test and the results were analyzed, in order to check which uncertainty sources contributed the most to the test uncertainty.
