Abstract

Nesse trabalho foram estudados dois aços baixo carbono microligados ao boro, com o qual se estabeleceram condições para o aparecimento da fragilização por segregação de não-equilíbrio. Esse fenômeno ocorreu na zona afetada pelo calor de soldas FBW (flash butt welding). Foi visto que o teor de nitrogênio no aço é determinante para a manifestação da fragilização e que a redução da quantidade deste elemento ou a aplicação de tratamento térmico pós-soldagem pode inibir o fenômeno.

 

In this work it was studied two boron microalloyed low carbon steels, with which it has established conditions for the onset of embrittlement caused by non-equilibrium segregation. This phenomenon occurred in the heat affected zone of FBW (flash butt welding) welds. It was found that the nitrogen content is essential for the embrittlement manifestation and the nitrogen amount reducing can inhibit the phenomenon. Also heat treatments after welding can avoid the embrittlement.
