Abstract

It is now widely accepted that the application of a crop optimization system in a hot strip mil1 can quickly pay for itself through improved yield. Many different approaches have been taken in the past, from entry-level systems using simple, basic components to more sophisticated systems using state of the art component in order to maximize yield improvernent. By utilizing individual crop optimization components that are each the most technologically advanced in the world, George Kelk Corporation has developed a system that delivers a new level of cropping accuracy, with payback measured in some cases in days instead of weeks, and yearly savings that would have cost millions of dollars to achieve by any other means.
