Abstract

The intention of this presentation is to demonstrate the benefits of induction stirring as the principal method for stirring in the LF and its influence on steel production from metallurgical, operational and economical points of view. A comparison is made between the use of gas and induction stirring. The comparison is, in essential parts, based on a study at the Mendes JR steel plant in Brazil, see Ref.1.
