Abstract

Recent studies of mold cooling of continuous casting indicate that soft cooling in the mold is most effective for obtaining good surface quality. However, soft cooling does not always correlate with stable operation. There is a problem of mutual incompatibility in maintaining the powder consumption rate and actualizing soft cooling. We are initiating research to solve this problem by using heat transfer data acquired in the past and experimental data.
