Abstract

O PROCESSO DE FLOTAçãO é INFLUENCIADO POR UM GRANDE NúMERO DE VARIáVEIS, COMO AS CARACTERíSTICAS DE CADA TIPO DE MINéRIO, OS TIPOS E AS DOSAGENS DOS REAGENTES UTILIZADOS, AS CONDIçõES DE CONDICIONAMENTO E AS CONDIçõES DE OPERAçãO. NO ENTANTO, FALTAM ESTUDOS DE COMO ESTES PARâMETROS AFETAM A RECUPERAçãO DE PARTíCULAS INDIVIDUAIS. ESTE ESTUDO VISA A COMPREENSãO DA INTERFERêNCIA DE ALGUMAS VARIáVEIS PARA UM SISTEMA BINáRIO COMPOSTO POR PIRITA E QUARTZO, SISTEMA COMUM DE MINéRIOS SULFETADOS. PARA ISSO, FORAM INVESTIGADOS O EFEITO: DA TAXA DE FLUXO DE AR (JG), A VELOCIDADE DO ROTOR (VS), A DOSAGENS DE COLETOR E DO ESPUMANTE, ALéM DO TEMPO DE COLETA NA FLOTAçãO DO SISTEMA BINáRIO, COMPOSTO POR PIRITA E QUARTZO. OS EXPERIMENTOS FORAM REALIZADOS EM UMA CéLULA DE FLOTAçãO NEXTSTEPTM DE 6 LITROS, SEGUINDO UMA ABORDAGEM DOE FATORIAL COMPLETA. O PARâMETRO JG FORAM DE 0,40 E 0,50 CM/S, VS DE 4,7 E 5,50 M/S, ENQUANTO OS VALORES DE COLETOR E ESPUMANTE FORAM IGUAIS A 20 E 50G/T E 30 E 60G/T, RESPECTIVAMENTE. O TEMPO DE COLETA, A DENSIDADE DA POLPA E PH FORAM MANTIDOS CONSTANTE. MODELOS BASEADOS EM REGRESSãO LOGíSTICA FORAM APLICADOS USANDO DADOS EXPERIMENTAIS PARA CALCULAR AS PROBABILIDADES DE RECUPERAçãO DE CADA PARTíCULA EM DIFERENTES CONDIçõES OPERACIONAIS. OS RESULTADOS DESTACAM A INFLUêNCIA DA HIDRODINâMICA E DAS PROPRIEDADES DAS PARTíCULAS NO COMPORTAMENTO DO PROCESSO, FORNECENDO INFORMAçõES IMPORTANTES PARA OTIMIZAçãO DE PROCESSOS DE FLOTAçãO EM INDúSTRIAS DE MINERAçãO E METALURGIA.

The flotation process is influenced by a large number of variables, such as the characteristics of the ore, the types and concentrations of reagents used, conditioning and operating conditions. However, there is a lack of studies on how these parameters affect the recovery of each particle individually. This study aims to understand the interference of some variables for a binary system composed of pyrite and quartz, a common system in sulfide ores. To this end, the effect of: air flow rate (Jg), rotor speed (Vs), collector and frother agent dosages, in addition to the collection time on the flotation of the binary system, composed of pyrite and quartz, was investigated. The experiments were carried out in a 6 liter nextSTEPTM flotation cell, following a full factorial DoE approach.
