Abstract

Neste trabalho foi desenvolvido um estudo sobre as escórias usadas no refino secundário buscando adequá-las ao processamento do aço VM2011, objetivando redução de micro inclusões no produto final, garantindo características da escória como capacidade de dessulfuração, proteção refratária, viscosidade e redução da absorção de hidrogênio pelo aço. Neste estudo foi objetivado um aumento do teor de Al2O3 para 25% e uma redução da SiO2 para 10% na escória. O desenvolvimento teve como resultado uma redução do nível micro inclusões no aço VM2011, reduzindo assim as chances de sucateamento do produto devido a não atendimento nos ensaios de NACE.

 

In the present investigation, the slags used in the refining of the VM2011 steel were studied by simulations of computational thermodynamics with the Thermocalc software, new slags were proposed and tested in the processes. The main change in the slag composition was an increase in the Al2O3 content up to 25% and a reduction of SiO2 to 10%. The proposed slags and the procedure in this work lead to the reduction of micro inclusions level in the VM2011 steel, without affecting the other quality indexes. These results also reduced the probability of scrapping the steel, based on the NACE test.
