Abstract

Este trabalho apresenta a otimização do abastecimento logístico de bobinas de aço na unidade CSN Paraná (PR), a partir da reestruturação do fluxo entre Volta Redonda (RJ) e a planta produtiva. O modelo anterior, baseado no envio antecipado de materiais, resultava em elevados níveis de estoque, maior movimentação interna, riscos operacionais e custos elevados. Como solução, implantou-se um modelo multimodal com uso de terminais intermediários como estoques reguladores, priorizando o modal ferroviário na longa distância e o rodoviário no trecho final. A aplicação de metodologias permitiu identificar gargalos e padronizar o abastecimento com base no consumo real. Os resultados incluem redução de estoques, menor lead time, redução de custos logísticos e ganhos ambientais. O modelo consolidou um abastecimento mais eficiente, sustentável e alinhado à demanda.

This paper presents the optimization of steel coil supply logistics at CSN Paraná (PR), achieved by restructuring the material flow between the Volta Redonda (RJ) plant and the production unit. The previous model, based on advance shipment of materials, resulted in high inventory levels, increased internal handling, and higher operational risks and logistics costs. To address these issues, a multimodal solution was implemented using intermediate terminals as buffer stocks. Rail transport was prioritized for long-distance hauls, while trucking was used for the final leg. The application of structured methodologies enabled the identification of bottlenecks and the standardization of supply processes based on actual consumption. The results include reduced inventory levels, shorter lead times, lower logistics costs, and environmental benefits. Overall, the model establishes a more efficient, sustainable, and demand-driven supply system.
