Abstract
The four Uni-campus-parts and the IEHK, labs, facilities and researchers are shown. In coke-making research coke quality, results, new test methods and use of coke including nut coke are given. In gasification research first the DWU (underground coal gasification by pressure change) is repeated including the advantages of pulsation; the HTW (High Temperature Winkler)-process to gasify fine material including various coals, biomass, animal fat, wheat, wood and grass is presented. In iron ore agglomeration research the problems of arising of dioxine (PCDD/F) and the solving of this problem e.g. by cleaning the waste gases in special wind boxes is stressed. By agglomeration of dust a filtering is possible, also the use of iron containing dusts are reported. In the BF the injection of hot reducing gases, prereduced material, different coals, additives, biomass and plastic materials are mentioned. The pulsated injection is discussed for cupola furnaces and BF’s; the development of charging systems and the parallel measurement possibilities at the top will be shown to get feasible results for modelling. Further technologies of iron making are e.g. DR in rotary kiln and hearth, shaft and fluidized bed by gas or coal. Problems of sticking, accretion and plating are discussed.
