Abstract

Quase 80% da energia utilizada no mundo é proveniente dos processos de combustão, incluindo transporte, atividades industriais, geração de energia elétrica e uso doméstico. Apesar das formas alternativas de geração de energia, como hidráulica e nuclear, a dependência da sociedade com a energia térmica dos processos de combustão ainda acontecerá durante diversas décadas. O ponto negativo é a emissão de poluentes dos dispositivos de combustão. Nesse contexto, o presente trabalho comenta sobre a dependência da sociedade, os impactos da emissão de poluentes e as novas tecnologias que estão sendo estudas no Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica.

 

Almost 80% of energy utilized in the world comes from the combustion process, including the transport, industrial processes, electrical energy generation, and domestic uses. In the spite of the alternative forms of energy generation, for example, hydraulic and nuclear, the society dependence of the thermal energy from combustion process will happen during several decades. The negative point is the pollutants emissions from the combustion devices. In this context, the present work comments on the society dependence, the pollutants emissions impacts, and the technologies that have been studied in Aeronautical Institute of Technology.
