Abstract
The iron ore beneficiation plant of Carajás will be producing about 70 Mtpy of natural pellet and fines in 2004. Being an area close to the mine, the crushing management, responsible for the in pit crushers, primary crusher, secondary crusher, tertiary crusher and Aztecas Plants, is always concerned about getting the crushing process better, increasing availability and no-stop the mining process. CVRD motivates employees to participate of programs like Suggestions, Ccq´s, etc, which generally get earnings to the company. The replacement of the lining 13x84” to 17x84” in the secondary crushing it’s a suggestion of José Itamar Soares, a CVRD employee. It decreased the blockage crusher stops due to material in the feed bowl hopper. The secondary crushing has three crushers wich two of them have already had their linings replaced.
