Abstract

For HSM-Rolling standard work rol1 qualities are in use, but within each standard type - ICDP, High Chrorne Iron, High Chrome Steel- there are various special grades available to solve very special problems. HSS opens new applications, however no standard is reached so far. Work rolls for cold rolling are mainly rnanufactured frorn improved forged steel, however cast rolls are coming back. Cast steel rolls are in use to rol1 heavy sections, for small section mainly nodular cast iron rolls are in servisse.
