Abstract

SAVE (Streamlined Automatic Vision Equipment) is a real-time surface quality inspection system developed to meet metallurgical industry needs. Designed in collaboration with users, SAVE combines CCD linescan cameras and real-time processing hardware to inspect both sides of the moving strip. It features modular architecture, supervised defect classification, ISO-compatible traceability, and remote diagnostics. Operating in automatic, learning, or semi-automatic modes, it offers flexibility for quality control, including real-time displays, defect mapping, and historical storage. Its robust interface and minimal maintenance requirements make it highly effective in harsh industrial environments.
