Abstract
The electric-arc furnace dust (EAFD) utilization in civil construction is not usual. In countries where this waste is collected, it is used at the recuperation process of heavy metals, like Zn and Pb. In Brazil those processes are not being made yet, because the heavy metals percentage of commercial value are not economic feasible (e.g. Zinc with only 13% of mass). Thus, more studies are necessary with the aim of turn it into a subproduct. In this context, the waste behavior were evaluated in Portland cement pastes through setting time and hydration heat determination, as the mineralogical and micro structural characterization with the aim of utilization in civil construction.
