Abstract

O monitoramento criterioso, em todas as etapas construtivas de um pavimento em via de transporte de carga, utilizando escória de aciaria com redução de expansão - ACERITA® nas camadas de sub-base e base foi de fundamental importância para a execução adequada deste pavimento. Inicialmente, foram coletadas amostras para caracterização dos materiais empregados na camada de aterro e na regularização e da escória de aciaria aplicada na camada de sub-base e base. Durante a execução do pavimento, foram verificados o grau de compactação e o teor de umidade em todas as camadas. A imprimação da base foi realizada com a finalidade de protegê-la. Este pavimento, denominado Avenida Industrial, foi construído no município da Serra-ES e liga a portaria norte da siderúrgica ArcelorMittal Tubarão à Rodovia BR 101, possui 9 (nove) meses de idade e apresenta excelente comportamento estrutural para o tráfego existente, conforme monitoramento realizado periodicamente. O monitoramento pós- obra é imprescindível para o levantamento histórico do comportamento do pavimento ao longo dos anos.

 

A rigid control during every stage in the construction of pavement layers (sub-base and base) using treated steel slag - ACERITA® - was the main factor to guarantee a high quality execution of this road. First of all, samples were collected to qualify the material of the specific layers before they were applied. During the construction, in all layers, the humidity and the degree of compaction were verified. The base was protected with a special surface priming (CM-30). This road, called Avenida Industrial was constructed in the city of Serra-ES to connect ArcelorMittal Tubarão to the Federal Road (BR 101). After 9 (nine) months of the end of the road execution, the pavement has shown excellent structural behavior considering the traffic conditions that it is exposed to. This conclusion is based on results obtained by monitoring the pavement after construction. This periodic control is essential to keep a historical about the pavement behavior by the years.
