Abstract

Diversos são os âmbitos em que a metodologia do TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) pode ser aplicada. Esta abordagem tem se tornado cada vez mais importante na medida em que as organizações encaram a necessidade de entender e gerenciar melhor seus custos. Este trabalho procura apresentar a utilização da metodologia do TCO na categoria de compras de serviços de transporte na ArcelorMittal Brasil, além de apresentar o funcionamento da Central de Tráfego, bem como os desafios, dificuldades e benefícios da sua operação em uma grande empresa. Este projeto já alcançou resultados significativos tanto em economia de frete quanto em melhoria do nível de serviço de transporte da empresa.

 

There are many applications of the TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) methodology. This approach has become increasingly important as organizations face the need to better understand and manage their costs. This paper intends to present the utilization of the TCO methodology in the transportation services purchasing category, and also to present the operation of the Traffic Center, as well as the challenges, difficulties and benefits involved. This project has already reached significant results not only in savings in freight cost, but also in the improvement of the transport service level.
