Abstract

Desde a patente de C. Salomon, em 1931, a tecnologia High Speed Machining é a tecnologia mais pesquisada e avançada no campo da usinagem. Os resultados mais importantes descritos, e que serão abordados neste trabalho, são a diminuição da temperatura na interface ferramenta-peça, menor esforço de corte e melhor acabamento superficial. Isso, aliado a outras vantagens tornam a HSM a tecnologia de ponta mais utilizada em usinagem.

 

Since the rank of C. Salomon in 1931, the High Speed Machining technology is the most researched and advanced technology in the field of machining. The most important results described, and that will be evaluated in this study, are the decrease of temperature in the interface tool-piece, less cutting force and better surface finish. It, combined with other advantages make the HSM the most advanced technology used in machining.
