Abstract

A experiência com usinagem verde, realizada na principal linha de produção de tubos com roscas API (American Petroleum Institute) da VMB, mostrou-se tecnologicamente viável, com ganhos ambientais e econômicos. Este trabalho descreve algumas das principais informações técnicas sobre usinagem a seco e as correlacionam aos dados amostrados em campo. Os parâmetros estudados foram: velocidades, forças, potências e temperaturas dos cavacos. Ferramentas de diferentes materiais foram testadas e avaliou-se o desempenho das mesmas em produtividade. As condições que permitiram eliminar o fluido de corte foram encontradas; encerrou-se a fonte de geração do resíduo oleoso e, conseqüentemente, o descarte dispendioso e complexo do mesmo. Há, também, sugestões de possíveis soluções para os casos de roscamento a seco em tubos de aço sem costura.

 

Environmental aspects have become more important in productive processes and cutting fluids used for threading pipes are considered a problem for the companies, due the substances can cause serious damages to the workers’ health as well as to the nature. This technical report describes the experience of VMB on dry machining at its API (American Petroleum Institute) threading line for casing pipes. Moreover it clarifies what had to be done to meet the target of environmental safeguards. Specific data, such as tools performance, graphs of chips temperature, discussions on tooling temperature and mainly results of the experience will be found herein. The development and the correlations between the bibliography and the field job are presented as well as the savings and environment benefits.
