Abstract

O minério proveniente da região de Copiapó, Chile, apresenta alta susceptibilidade magnética, justificando a utilização de separação magnética. Testes de concentração no Tubo Davis são capazes de indicar a recuperação e o produto a ser gerado com separação magnética de baixa intensidade. O objetivo desse trabalho foi ajustar as variáveis envolvidas e determinar a melhor combinação para o teste padrão a ser desenvolvido com amostras de sondagem. O planejamento estatístico foi feito através de Plackett Burmann, que selecionou as variáveis mais significativas. A partir dos resultados obtidos, foi feito um planejamento fatorial, onde tais variáveis foram analisadas em maior profundidade. As análises estatísticas foram feitas baseadas na recuperação de Fe e teor de SiO2 no concentrado. O t calculado mostrou que o campo magnético é significativo para o aumento na recuperação de Fe.

 

The ore from Copiapó region, Chile, has high magnetic susceptibility, justifying the use of magnetic separation. Tests of concentration in tube Davis are able to indicate the recovery and the possible low intensity magnetic separation product. The objective of this study was to adjust the variables involved and to determine the best match for the standard test to be developed in drill samples. The statistical design was done using Plackett Burmann, which selected the most important variables. A factorial design was also made, using the variables selected in Plackett Burmann. Statistical analysis were made, based on Fe in recovery and on %SiO2 in the concentrate. The t calculated showed that the magnetic field is significant for Fe recovery.
