Abstract
In the past, the CONSTEEL® Process has represented a completely new approach to the melting process, transforming the charging, melting and refining operation of the furnace from batch to continuous. This continuity allows a more efficient use of energy during the entire process and permits the operation in a better controlled environment. The worldwide acceptance of this technology has been demonstrated by the growing number of plants under construction. In the year 2000 alone, 5 new units have been commissioned and the trend is continuing into 2001.
