Aluminum-Si alloys are widely used in engineering; however, maintaining mechanical strength and electrical conductivity after exposure to high temperatures still represents a technological challenge. This article aimed to analyze the influence of 0.3% Ni and annealing at 200 and 300 °C for 2 hours on the macrostructure, electrical conductivity, and Ultimate Tensile Strength (UTS) of the Al-0.5%Si alloy. The alloys were cast in a metal mold and subjected to macrostructural, electrical, and tensile analyses. The results showed that the addition of Ni promoted an increase in equiaxed grain size in the Untreated condition. It increased the electrical conductivity with annealing in both alloys, reaching 66.33% IACS in the alloy with Ni and treated at 300 °C. It increased the UTS from 214 to 254.23 MPa in the Untreated condition. At 200 °C, there was a reduction from 195.63 to 191.60 MPa. At 300 °C, there was an increase from 109.60 to 208.94 MPa. These results indicate that the addition of Ni contributes to the balance between electrical and mechanical properties after thermal exposure, associated with microstructural stabilization by possible intermetallic phases.
