Resumo

The worldwide steelworks present situation, after the worldwide crisis, has forced many restrictions for investments in steelmaking companies. The main important equipaments in the integrated coke steelworks are related to blast furnaces. Therefore, the actions have to be centralized on blast furnaces preservation and postponing the blast furnaces great rebuilts. In Ipatinga steelmaking, many actions have to be executed to preserve the blast furnaces and to extend the blast furnaces service lives. This paper shows the actions that are being executed and their results that are extending the blast furnaces service lives and postponing the blast furnaces great rebuilts.
