ANALYSIS OF METHODS FOR THE EXPERIMENTAL DETERMINATION OF THE FORMING LIMIT CURVE (FLC) OF THIN SHEETS OF STEELS FOR STAMPING

Resumo

Foram realizados ensaios de estampagem em corpos-de-prova na forma de blanks de chapa de aço LI (Livre de Intersticiais) com 1,20 mm de espessura, retirados de bobinas laminadas a frio e recozidas em forno contínuo. Foi utilizado o método da análise de grade de círculos, no qual uma malha de referência foi impressa nos corpos-de-prova e, através de um microscópio ótico, a malha foi medida antes e depois dos respectivos ensaios físicos. Com isso, calcularam-se as deformações de interesse e, através do método no5 de Zurich, fez-se a interpolação de seis dados experimentais, determinando-se assim, para cada corpo-de-prova, o par de deformações

 

Stamping tests were conducted on specimens in the form of blanks from sheets of a 1,20 mm thin IF (Interstitial Free) steel taken from cold rolled and continuous annealed coils. The method of the analysis of circle grid was used, in which a reference grid was printed on the test specimens, and through an optical microscope the circles were measured before and after each stamping test. With this method the deformations of the specimens were measured and through the Zurich No. 5 Method six experimental data were interpolated for each test specimen, determining the deformation pair of major strain and minor strain of the Forming Limit Curve at Necking. With this study involving the formation of a localized necking more precise results can be obtained compared to other methods applied nowadays, and the more precise is the forming limit curve, more complex parts can be stamped without any loss of quality and reliability.
