Resumo

O circuito de remoagem do projeto Minas-Rio é atualmente o maior do mundo utilizando moinhos verticais. O circuito possui 16 Vertimill VTM-1500 da Metso e 8 baterias de ciclones. O minério processado é um itabirito que é concentrado através de flotação reversa. O circuito de remoagem tem como objetivo reduzir a granulometria do concentrado final objetivando transportá-lo através de um mineroduto com 529km de extensão. O presente trabalho apresenta uma avaliação do consumo energético da remoagem de concentrado de minério de ferro, em bancada, com o aumento do teor de sílica. Os resultados deste trabalho mostraram que o teor de sílica na alimentação da remoagem possui efeito significativo no consumo energético.

 

The regrinding circuit of the Minas-Rio Project is currently the largest in the world using vertical mills. The circuit has16 Metso Vertimill VTM-1500 and 8 cyclone batteries. The ore processed is an itabirite that is concentrated through reverse flotation. The objective of the regrinding circuit is to decrease the particle size distribution of the final concentrate in order to transport it through the 529km pipeline. This study presents the evaluation of the regrinding energy consumption of the iron ore concentrate, in bench scale, with the increase of the silica content. The results showed silica content has a significant effect in the energy consumption.
