Resumo

A formação de fase sigma em aços inoxidáveis dúplex e superdúplex durante envelhecimento isotérmico entre 700°C e 900oC é extensamente relatada na literatura; todavia, a extrapolação das curvas de transformação isotérmica destes aços indica que para maiores tempos de envelhecimento a formação de fases intermetálicas (sigma e chi) é possível em temperaturas inferiores a 700°C. Deste modo, o objetivo deste trabalho foi estudar a cinética de formação de fases intermetálicas no aço UNS S32750 durante o envelhecimento isotérmico entre 550oC e 650oC. A partir do material como recebido, envelhecimento isotérmico a 550°C, 600°C e 650°C foi conduzido por tempos variando de 10 minutos a 1.032 h, seguido de resfriamento em água, com o objetivo de produzir microestruturas com diferentes frações de fases. Para a quantificação de fase sigma foi utilizado ataque eletrolítico seletivo com solução 10% KOH, e a fração volumétrica de ferrita foi obtida com o auxílio de ferritoscópio. Caracterizou-se deste modo a cinética das transformações de fases que levam à formação das fases intermetálicas descritas.

 

The formation of sigma phase in duplex and superduplex stainless steels during isothermal aging between 700°C and 900°C is widely reported in the literature. However, extrapolation of the curves of isothermal transformation of these steels indicates that for longer periods of aging the formation of intermetallic phases (sigma and chi) is possible at temperatures below 700°C. Thus, the objective of this work was the study of the kinetics of formation of intermetallic phases in the UNS S32750 steel during isothermal aging between 550 and 650oC. From the as received material, isothermal aging at 550°C, 600°C and 650°C was conducted for times ranging from 10 minutes to 1032 h, followed by immersion in water. Quantification of sigma phase was performed after selective electrolytic etching with 10% KOH solution, and the volume fraction of ferrite was obtained with a ferritscope. It was characterized the kinetics of phase transformations that lead to the formation of intermetallic phases described.
