Abstract

Este artigo tem como objetivo analisar como a prática de um comportamento participativo da gerência pode contribuir para a redução dos acidentes de trabalho. Com base em um estudo de caso realizado em uma indústria química do Vale do Paraíba, foram coletados dados através de pesquisas qualitativas e quantitativas aplicadas nos funcionários de vários departamentos desta empresa. A pesquisa qualitativa, de natureza exploratória, foi conduzida através de entrevistas com o nível operacional e de liderança e a análise de seus conteúdos permitiu identificar alguns fatores que serviram de referencial para a elaboração da pesquisa quantitativa, de natureza descritiva, a qual utilizou-se de questionários distribuídos somente aos operadores. Os resultados obtidos na pesquisa quantitativa foram submetidos a tratamento estatístico através do software Sphinx e demonstram que a prática da gerência participativa influencia positivamente os aspectos comportamentais relativos à segurança do trabalho estimulando as equipes operacionais a integrar-se, de forma significativa, na implantação e condução dos programas preventivos para redução de acidentes do trabalho.

 

This article aims to analyze how the practice of a management participative behavior can contribute to the reduction of the occupational hazardous. Based in a case study accomplished in a chemical industry of the “Vale do Paraíba”, data were collected through qualitative and quantitative researches applied to employees of several departments of this company. The qualitative research, of exploratory nature, was conducted through interviews with the operational level and of the leadership and the analysis of its contents allowed the identification of some factors useful as reference for the elaboration of the quantitative research, of descriptive nature, which used questionnaires distributed only to operators. The results obtained in the quantitative research were submitted to statistical treatment through the software Sphinx and demonstrate that the practice of the participative management influences behavioral aspects related to work safety, stimulating positively the operational teams to become integrated, in a significant way, in the implantation and conduction of the preventive programs for reduction of occupational hazardous.
