Abstract

São apresentados métodos de cálculo para a previsão da vida residual sob fadiga de elementos estruturais de plataformas oceânicas levando em conta o caráter aleatório dos parâmetros envolvidos e com base na mecânica da fratura. Os procedimentos são baseados na caracterização dos estados de mar, na simulação do carregamento aleatório, na análise da resposta dinâmica da estrutura sujeita a carregamento ambiental, na contagem dos ciclos de solicitação pelo método rainflow, na avaliação da vida sob fadiga por análise de acúmulo de dano, na avaliação da vida sob fadiga por análise de propagação de trinca. A previsão da vida sob fadiga baseada na curva S-N é utilizada para fins de comparação com os resultados dos procedimentos baseados na mecânica da fratura. A validade dos procedimentos apresentados é analisada na predição da vida sob fadiga de um cilindro engastado no leito do oceano.

 

The methods are presented for the prediction of the residual life and fatigue reliability of offshore structural components considering the random character of the parameters involved and based on fracture mechanics. The procedures are based on the description of sea states, the simulation of random loading, the dynamic response analysis of the structure subjected to the environment loading, cycle counting by means of the rainflow method, fatigue evaluation by means of damage accumulation analysis, fatigue evaluation by means of crack growth analysis and finally on the evaluation of fatigue reliability of mechanical and structural components. The methods of fatigue life prediction based on damage accumulation are used to confront the results of the methods of fatigue life prediction based on fracture mechanics. The validity of the procedures proposed is analysed in the prediction of the fatigue life of a cylinder fixed to the sea bed.
