Abstract

Na CST/Arcelor Brasil a Manutenção tem função estratégica, sendo a nossa missão garantir a estabilidade do processo de produção via redução de variabilidade. Na siderurgia os ativos são elevados e qualquer parada de equipamento tem como conseqüência a perda de milhares de dólares. É diretriz do Plano Empresarial da Manutenção a transferência gradativa de toda execução da Manutenção para empresas especializadas, permanecendo com os empregados da CST/Arcelor Brasil apenas as atividades estratégicas. As Parceiras devem ser pré-qualificadas com base na sua especialização e os contratos, firmados com cláusulas de performance ou resultado. Com isso, sedimenta-se a gestão de manutenção por confiabilidade permitindo a maximização da utilização dos ativos da empresa. Para acompanhar esta diretriz, entendemos que a contratação também deveria ocorrer de forma padronizada visando proteger os negócios da empresa. Evidenciamos que tais ações tem sido um grande diferencial competitivo da CST/Arcelor Brasil. O foco do nosso trabalho é, além de mostrar nossa evolução no processo de contratação, apresentar alguns dos nossos resultados após a implantação das diretrizes do planejamento estratégico.

 

At CST/Arcelor Brazil, the Maintenance has a strategic function. Our mission is to assure the stability of the production process by reducing the variability. In the siderurgical area, the assets are high and any problems with the equipment will results in the loss of thousands of dollars. There is a guideline in the Company Maintenance Plan that stands the gradual transfer from all the performance of Maintenance to specialized companies, remaining to CST/Arcelor Brazil employees just the strategic sets. The partnership must be selected based on their specialization and the contracts must be selled with clauses of performance or result. In the way, the reliability of the maintenance management can grow stronger, expanding the company sets. To follow the guideline, we believe that the contracting should also be done in a standardized form, willing to protect the Company business. All of those actions had been a great competitive differential for CST/Arcelor Brazil. The focus of our work, besides showing our evolution in the contracting process, is to present some of the results after the implantation of the guidelines of the strategic management.
