Abstract

O objetivo do presente trabalho é otimizar o desenvolvimento do tratamento térmico do aço ABNT 4320 forjado, visando o aumento de tenacidade. O trabalho buscou determinar os parâmetros ideais de tratamentos térmicos que venham correlacionar a maior tenacidade do aço ABNT 4320 aliada à alta resistência mecânica através da homogeneização microestrutural. Para isso foi realizado o ensaio Jominy para determinação da temperabilidade de cada barra de aço antes dos três ciclos térmicos propostos: recozimento, normalização, têmpera e revenimento.O trabalho foi desenvolvido através de estudos dos parâmetros de tratamentos térmicos, avaliados através da caracterização metalúrgica e mecânica do componente.

 

The purpose of the present work is the optimization of heat treatment cycles in ABNT 4320 forged steel in order to increase toughness. This work aimed to determine the optimum heat treatment parameters, which correlates the higher toughness of ABNT 4320 forged steel to a high mechanical strength, achieved with microstructural homogenization. For this, Jominy testing was carried out in order to determine the hardenability of each steel bar before three predetermined heat treatment cycles: annealing, normalizing, quenching and tempering. The work was developed by studying the heat treatment parameters, which were evaluated by the metallurgical and mechanical characterization of the component.
