Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to describe cordierite-based refractories to those who are not familiar with this product, mainly people who work in the steel and foundry industry. The characteristics that make these products useful for kiln furniture are presented. The principles of cordierite manufacturing and the main properties of cordierite bodies are also described.
